Agricultural activities have an impact on the environment and climate. The direct share of agriculture in greenhouse gas emissions worldwide is about 13%.
The emissions you cause as a farmer are, for example, caused by fertilization (organic or artificial fertilizers), or by keeping animals (livestock farming causes methane emissions).Â
By understanding your footprint, you know which business activities have the most impact. Then you can get started with reducing your footprint.
Calculate your footprint
Greenhouse Sustainability has developed several tools with which you can calculate your footprint yourself. The footprint calculation is conducted using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Our experienced LCA specialists can help and guide you in calculating your footprint.
Would you prefer us to calculate your footprint? Our LCA specialists will request the necessary data from you, after which we will calculate the footprint for you.
When the calculation is finished, you have insight into no less than 16 impact categories of your company or product, including CO2 emissions, water, land use and toxicity. Together with you, we look at the possibilities to reduce your impact.
Sustainability in agriculture
Where to start?
When the footprint is calculated, you can start to implement sustainability. Which part of your company has the greatest environmental impact? By mapping out the impact of, for example, your agricultural vehicles, you can specifically look for ways to make your business operations more sustainable and possibly also save costs.
