On Thursday, April 16, 2026, the horticultural sector will gather for the second time at the Horticultural Footprint Event in Schipluiden. An inspiring program will focus extensively on footprinting and sustainability. Where are we headed in the next five years as a sector and what does this mean for your company and chain partners? Participation is free, registration is in full swing.
Last year, the Horticultural Footprint Event was organized for the first time at the initiative of Greenhouse Sustainability. By popular demand, the event is now returning to Op Hodenpijl in Schipluiden with attractive guests on stage, a surprising keynote speaker and the announcement of the overall winner of Ranking the Grower.
Environmental, Social, Governance
During the afternoon, the latest developments in sustainability and footprint calculations throughout the horticultural supply chain will be discussed. This will be done using three pillars: Environmental, Social and Governance. This framework helps organizations to map and improve their sustainability and social impact. Presenter Rob Veenman welcomes from the E of Environmental, among others, Best Fresh Group and KP Holland on stage. Greenhouse Sustainability's LCA specialists will also talk about their role and the footprint tools available. In addition, an active panel discussion will discuss initiatives such as The First Sustainable Generation and 100% Green Grown. The G of Governance will be filled in by aaff/Epiic. They will explain their pilot project ‘In 3 Steps to a Climate Neutral and Profitable Greenhouse’. From the S of Social there will be an inspiring keynote speaker: the founder of Only Friends, a sports club for children and young people with disabilities. His message: ‘You are good just the way you are! This Social pillar is about how an organization deals with people, both internally and externally. Important areas of focus here are working conditions, diversity, equality and inclusion.
The program will conclude with the exciting announcement of the overall winner of Ranking the Grower, KAS Magazine's horticultural election and
HortiContact. In addition, more guests will be added to the Horticulture Footprint Event in the near future. Information will be shared via Greenhouse
